George took maternity leave from her duties on CBS’ NFL pregame show, The NFL Today, to give birth to Pamela. Additionally, Brown is the granddaughter of politician John Y. Brown Sr. and the half-sister of former Kentucky Secretary of State John Y. Brown, III. Her parents divorced in 1996 after 17 years of marriage when Brown was 13. Brown has an older brother, Lincoln (born 1980), and three half-siblings from her father’s prior marriage. Brown was named after her aunt Pamela Brown, who died in 1970 at the age of 28 together with her husband Rod Anderson and balloonist Malcolm Brighton, in an ill-fated attempt to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a Rozière balloon, Free Life.

Brown is CNN’s chief investigative correspondent and anchor. Brown leads the network’s award-winning investigative team and fills in as an anchor on air throughout the week. Since joining CNN in 2013, Brown has received Emmy nominations for her work covering the Pulse nightclub shooting and the Manchester concert attack. Previously, Brown served as CNN’s senior Washington correspondent and senior White House correspondent where she covered former President Donald Trump and his administration for all of the network’s programs and platforms.

Brown’s reporting on the Trump administration covered key moments such as the special counsel’s investigation into former President Donald Trump’s campaign, two impeachment proceedings, the Covid pandemic, the controversial travel ban, and child separation policies, missile strikes in Syria, and the firing of FBI Director James Comey.
