Challengers Development
In February 2022, it was revealed that Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer had acquired the rights to the film. Additionally, the movie, directed by Luca Guadagnino, features Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist in lead roles. Notably, Zendaya took on the additional role of a producer for the project.

The movie was filmed from May 3 to June 26, 2022, in Boston, Massachusetts. However, due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, Amazon MGM Studios, the film’s distributor, withdrew it from the festival, leading to delays. Warner Bros. Pictures is handling the film’s international distribution.
Originally intended for a direct-to-streaming release on Amazon Prime Video in France, the decision was reversed in January 2024. This change means that the film will now be available for streaming on the service 17 months after its initial theatrical release, rather than opting for an exclusive digital release.
Despite rumors suggesting an April 24, 2024 release in France, two days before the U.S. release, a representative from Warner Bros. Furthermore, discovery refuted this claim, asserting that the film’s French theatrical release date had not been finalized.
