Before moving to San Diego, Tripp was the Sports Director at KREM 2 in Spokane, Washington. There he managed the overall coverage and strategic direction of their sports team while producing, shooting, editing, writing, and anchoring.
In 2018, Tripp won an Edward R. Murrow Award for Sports Reporting: ‘Zag Climber Revenge’. Some highlights of Tripp’s coverage have been six NCAA tournaments and covering the Seattle Seahawks during multiple NFL Playoff games and two Super Bowls. He also followed Washington State to San Diego for back-to-back Holiday Bowl appearances.
During his free time, he loves checking out San Diego’s great restaurants with his fiancé Laura. He also enjoys playing bad golf and slightly better pickup basketball.
