Marier since she was little, knew she wanted to work in broadcast news. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Arts in Media from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She got her first job out of college at WDIO, the ABC-affiliated station in Duluth as a part-time news producer. Additionally, she previously worked as a general assignment Reporter at KOLO 8 News. Before working at KOLO 8, she worked at WCTV, the CBS affiliate in Tallahassee, Florida for three years.
Before heading north to college, Champlin, Minnesota is where she called home. She has a strong passion for writing and telling people’s stories. In addition, she worked at the ABC-affiliated station in Reno, Nevada for nearly three years. She reported on a variety of topics there including wildfires, racial unrest, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the 2020 Presidential election.
She also led the design and production of the first and only local 10 p.m. newscast in Northern Nevada, which later won the station’s first-ever Emmy Award. Marier worked as a producer for the morning newscasts, later getting the opportunity to report on weekend mornings.
She also led the design and production of the inaugural 4 p.m. newscast there. Marier produced several events while in Florida, including four major hurricanes, the Pulse Nightclub massacre, the 2016 Presidential election, and the Parkland school mass shooting.
During her leisure time, she loves drinking coffee with friends, exploring the outdoors, walking with a dog near a lake, snowboarding in the winter, retail therapy, getting frustrated putting together a puzzle, or perhaps watching a good TV show or movie, or homemade meal surrounded by family.
She is a foodie and is constantly taking food or restaurant recommendations. She also always asks to pet a cat or dog, as she has a strong love for animals.
