Linda joined the Local News 8 crew as soon as she graduated from Idaho State University. From 1986 to 1991, she worked as a reporter and weekend news anchor before taking a few years off to raise her three lovely children. She continued to work for Local News 8 at that time as a replacement anchor, reporter, and photographer. She in particular enjoyed the extensive travel required to complete Wednesday’s Child reports with Jay Hildebrandt. One of her favorite parts of working at the station has been getting to assist place children in caring homes.
She has won numerous honors for her broadcast work, including the Idaho Photographer of the Year and the Spot News Story of the Year awards. Linda also has a history in musical theater and professional dance. Owner and director of Sunrise Dance Academy, she has enjoyed participating in several community events as well as tours across the country and beyond. Being able to perform on the Great Wall of China was one of her most incredible experiences.
Local News 8 has been pleading with Linda to come back to the station for a number of years. In March, she eventually consented, and she enjoyed every second of it. In addition to working for Local News 8, Linda is also the host of a radio news program for NPR, runs a dance studio, choreographs for several dance companies in the West, manages the public relations for an internationally known pianist and vocalist, and works for and scouts talent for a Salt Lake City agency. She is overjoyed to be returning to KIFI/KIDK.
