Bream is the daughter of Clarence Edward and Linda DePuy. When she was 17 years old, she started attending Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. While attending college, she won the Miss Virginia pageant in 1990. She then competed in the Miss America 1991 pageant and came in the top 10. Her college studies were largely funded by the scholarship she received.
Bream traveled to Tallahassee to enroll in law school at Florida State University after receiving his Business Management degree from Liberty University in 1993, magna cum laude. She served as Bill McCollum’s intern in the US House of Representatives.

Bream relocated to Tampa, Florida after earning her JD degree with honors from Florida State University College of Law in 1996. There, she started her career as a lawyer specializing in sexual harassment and racial discrimination. In the end, she decided to leave the legal field and pursue a career in television journalism.
She relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2001, where she worked as the evening and late-night news correspondent for WBTV, a CBS affiliate. After working for WBTV for three years, Bream joined NBC station WRC-TV in Washington, DC, in 2004. She worked as a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter for WRC-TV.
While at WRC-TV, Bream met Brit Hume, who was the managing editor of the Fox News Channel’s Washington Bureau. With his encouragement, she submitted audition tapes to Fox News. Bream joined the Fox News Channel in November 2007 and was based in the network’s Washington, D.C. bureau. She then became the anchor/host of Fox News @ Night. On August 11, 2022, it was announced that Bream will become the permanent anchor of Fox News Sunday, beginning September 11, 2022, replacing Chris Wallace.
Bream is the author of three books: Finding the Bright Side: The Art of Chasing What Matters, The Women of the Bible Speak: The Wisdom of 16 Women and Their Lessons for Today, and The Mothers and Daughters of the Bible Speak: Lessons on Faith from Nine Biblical Families.
