She graduated from Penn State University with two degrees in Broadcast Journalism and International Studies. It was at that moment she discovered her passion for broadcasting. Olmo reported and anchored for the university’s student-produced newscast. She also interned for Univision and Clear Channel Communications. Olmo has reported a multitude of severe weather stories, including the 2019 historic snowstorm that broke records in Flagstaff, Arizona in a single day and impacted the area for several days.
Before the big move out west, Olmo served for 3 years at AccuWeather in State College, Pennsylvania anchoring weather segments in English and Spanish. She reported local, national, and international weather forecasts on the AccuWeather Network. She also delivered national weather hits on ABC’s “World News Now,” The Big Ten Network, and FOX News Channel.
In addition, she traveled to Shangai China where she interned for the cable channel International Channel Shanghai (part of the Shanghai Media Group)after graduating from Penn State. Olmo helped with reporting, and editing and occasionally co-hosted the show “City Beat” an entertainment, fashion, and culture news program.
Most recently Stephanie is back in school at Mississippi State University’s distance learning program working on getting her degree in Meteorology. During her free time, she loves exploring the beautiful state of Arizona, dancing, and cooking in the kitchen.

She is leaving having covered extreme summer heat, historic snowstorms in northern AZ, raging wildfires, and devastating floods. Additionally, she is forever grateful to the Arizonans who trusted her to tell their stories and the viewers who welcomed her. She is over the moon to announce that she be heading to Los Angeles and will be joining the NBC Los Angeles family.
