Alia came to FOX59 from WTHI-TV, the CBS and FOX affiliate in Terre Haute, Indiana. For seven years, she worked a variety of roles including producer, reporter, weekend anchor, and, most recently, weekday morning co-anchor. Alia graduated from Ball State University in 2013 with two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Telecommunications and Journalism. During her time in Terre Haute, Alia worked on stories that gained local and national interest. Moreover, she also served as a media witness to two federal executions at the prison complex housed in Terre Haute.
She was recognized for her work as a reporter, and Alia was named a finalist for a Spectrum award from the Indiana Broadcasters Association for “Best News Feature” in 2017. Furthermore, she was part of the station’s Emmy-nominated memorial coverage for fallen Terre Haute police Officer Rob Pitts. While Alia’s work experience comes from the Wabash Valley, she’s a native of Indianapolis. She’s thrilled to be back home in Indianapolis with her husband, Aaron, and their dog, Melo. During her free time, she enjoys cooking, a lot of coffee, and watching her Baltimore Ravens.
