Amy also worked in Clarksville Tennessee as a radio news director in the mid-’80s while her husband served in the U.S. Army. After returning to Panama City, Amy resumed her television news career.
In 1994, she accepted an anchor position here at WMBB NEWS13. Amy is currently the Senior Evening News anchor. Amy takes pride in supporting her community. She has served on boards for the American Heart Association, Guardian Ad Litem, and Gulf Coast State College.
Hoyt and her husband Robert both graduated in 1977 from Panama City Christian School Bay County always has been home. Her first TV job was at WMBB rival WJHG, where the iconic Joe Moore hired her as a weekend anchor and weekday reporter and served as her first news director.
Amy has been recognized over the years as First Lady of the Year by Beta Sigma Phi International, a favorite News Anchor in a Panama City Living Magazine survey, as well as a Best of Bay top media personality.
She was most recently named a 2019 Pinnacle Awards winner, one of ten women across the Panhandle honored for their service to the community. Amy and her husband Robert have two grown daughters, two sons-in-law, and three grandchildren.
