She also received an Emmy nomination for a second feature “Gibbs’ Little Valentine.” A story about a young boy in Spring Lake, NC, who touched her heart on Valentine’s Day. Additionally, she joined ABC11 Eyewitness News in 2001.
Some of Barbara’s most moving experiences: traveling to New York City. With a Durham breast cancer survivor to meet “Good Morning America’s” Robin Roberts. She also met a miracle family; a young mother with cystic fibrosis who survived giving birth and a double-lung transplant. She also had the honor of telling a soldier’s story. Local veterans in the home building industry built a house for free for a triple amputee Iraq war soldier and his wife.

Barbara enjoys being active in the community, participating every year with talented young. Local golfers in the “Jimmy V Jr Celebrity Golf Classic,” raising money for pediatric cancer research. Additionally, this year, Barbara participated in various fundraising events benefiting groups ranging from the MDA. American Cancer Society, and Building Together Ministries. Barbara was raised in Memphis, Tennessee. Then the family made two other moves to Texas and New Jersey. Before settling in the place she considers home — Mobile, Alabama.
Like every member of her family, Barbara attended Auburn University. She graduated with a BA degree in journalism (PR) and a minor in sociology.
