Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Janice moved to the Birmingham area as a young teen. She graduated from McAdory High School in Jefferson County, growing up on a Farm in McCalla – a time she still considers some of the best years of her life. Rogers started as an Intern while in college at UAB earning her degree in Broadcast Journalism.
She also interned at the local NBC affiliate. It was there Janice began her on-air career when Channel 13 hired her as a videotape editor and general assignment reporter. She was then later promoted to East Alabama Bureau Chief – later midday anchor and finally weekend anchor.
But in August of 1994, Channel 6 was fortunate to entice Janice away from “next door” and bring her back to her original love – WBRC. At the time, Not know the station was being bought by FOX New Corp. – Janice had no idea she was about to begin a brand-new morning show – eventually called “Good Day Alabama.” But as Janice says, “What a blessing it has been.” Currently, Janice and the Good Day crew do six hours of television in the morning. Janice co-anchors and produces segments on the show.
But her pride and joy is her son Noah. Janice and her husband have a close family and family time is the most important to them. They also love their Golden Retriever and Boston Terrier (a rescue dog) very much. Janice continues to have strong ties to the community. Her commitment to work and family has endeared Janice to thousands of loyal viewers as well as co-workers. WBRC is truly delighted to call her one of their own, and Janice feels blessed to be in viewers’ homes every day.
