Min Yoon-gi Girlfriend

During his middle school years, BTS member Suga opened up in a touching love letter, sharing a story of heartbreak and hope with a local radio host. What began as a friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship when Suga bravely confessed his feelings to her. However, his extreme shyness made it difficult for Suga to be himself around the girl they were dating. This created a noticeable change in their relationship, starkly different from how it was when they were just friends.

The growing discomfort eventually led to the girl suggesting they should return to being friends. While Suga initially felt abandoned and hurt by the breakup, he later took time for self-reflection and came to understand the reasons behind his ex’s decision to end the relationship.

The rapper confessed that if he could go back, he would treat her way better and knows he could do more for her. Suga would have told her that he loved and liked her proudly. He was hurtful, and regretful and apologized to the girl for treating her that way. However, Yoongi now sees it as a good memory and thanks his ex for making that memory with him.

Min Yoon-gi Surgery

In December 2013, Suga was diagnosed with appendicitis and had to undergo surgery at Severance Hospital in Sinchon on the 9th. He was discharged on the 17th but was readmitted on the 26th due to inflammation at the surgical site. As a result, he couldn’t attend any year-end music festivals that year.

In December 2016, Suga experienced an ear injury when he tripped over a door threshold. Following the doctor’s advice, he took a one-week break from performing and participating in choreography, including year-end festivals, to ensure proper healing of the wound.

Additionally, in November 2020, Suga had surgery to repair a torn labrum (reverse Bankart tear) in his left shoulder. He then announced that he would be taking a break from subsequent promotional activities to allow for a full recovery. He resumed his activities in January 2021, beginning with a performance at the 35th Golden Disc Awards.

In 2016, he also adopted the alias Agust D for his mixtape, which is a creative fusion of the initials “DT” representing his birthplace, Daegu Town, and “Suga,” spelled backward.

Suga shares a room with his fellow bandmate, Kim Seok-jin. Jin and Suga are affectionately known as the ex-Eternal Roommates, and they are the oldest members of the group.

He made his debut as a BTS member on Mnet’s M Countdown with their debut single album “2 Cool 4 Skool,” featuring the track “No More Dream.” Suga has since contributed as a producer and lyricist to numerous tracks on all of BTS’ albums.

For BTS’ third Korean-language extended play (EP), “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 1,” Suga released a solo introductory track titled “Intro: The Most Beautiful Moment in Life.” The song delved into the anxieties of approaching adulthood at the end of one’s adolescent years and was accompanied by an animated music video. Following this, in the EP “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2,” Suga contributed another introduction, “Intro: Never Mind,” reflecting on his teenage years. This track was the opening song on BTS’ 2016 compilation album “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever.”

Suga’s next introductory track came in 2020 with “Interlude: Shadow,” part of the “Map of the Soul: 7” album. This rap song made references to “Intro: O!RUL8,2?” from the 2013 EP of the same name and explored the impact of BTS’ fame on their self-identity. Accompanied by a music video, the song received praise for its evocative and bold nature, with a notable shift in sound midway that emphasized the effect of fame and the audience’s gaze on self-perception.

Suga also released two solo tracks under BTS’ name. “First Love” is a deeply personal rap track featured on BTS’ 2016 studio album “Wings,” which resembles an autobiographical monologue. On the 2018 compilation album “Love Yourself: Answer,” Suga presented the song “Trivia: Seesaw,” which addressed the fluctuating nature of falling in love.

In recognition of his contributions, Suga was awarded the fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit as a BTS member by the President of South Korea, among other members of the group, in the same year.
