Perry joined the KNWA and FOX24 morning team in March 2022 to continue his lifelong passion for news. Before moving to Fayetteville, Perry was a morning anchor and investigative reporter in Tyler, Texas. While there, he helped grow viewership for some morning hours by as much as 75 percent over a year, and aired investigations that, among other things, contributed to a nationwide recall of a hand sanitizer brand.
He also worked as a weekend anchor for KMTR/KVAL for two years after his graduation in 2018, where he produced four shows a day on weekends and led hours-long live streams during 2020’s George Floyd protests. He’s also worked with stations in Cleveland, Los Angeles, Raleigh-Durham, and Sarasota. Perry’s love for news began at a young age, as he watched the journalists in his hometown of Cleveland make a difference in their community every day.
While majoring in journalism and chemistry at Elon University, he became passionate about investigating health issues. He received a $10,000 grant to pursue his research into male depression and suicide while there. Other research interests include changes in healthcare policy, pharmaceutical industry costs, drug trafficking, and the ongoing opioid crisis.
When he’s not working, Perry enjoys photography, hiking, playing the drums, video games, and teaching people how to pronounce his last name. A nerd at heart, he loves learning and telling others’ stories, and is excited to continue his work for the community alongside the KNWA /FOX24 team!
