On the morning of October 11, 2017, Bruner couldn’t get her voice out at all. She began slurring her words and sounded like she was having a stroke. She was rushed to the ER, and her brain scans were clear. Additionally, there was no sign of a stroke an aneurysm or a blood clot. She went on to get more tests at Emory University Hospital and neurologists found nothing wrong with her physically. They then diagnosed her with psychogenic stuttering brought upon by trauma.
