Moreover, Bloomquist is the co-anchor of Action News at Noon and Action News at 4 p.m. Sarah joined the Action News team in August 2002. Since then, she’s covered many major stories for 6abc, including reporting live from Maryland during the sniper scare. Following the Philadelphia Eagles and their faithful fans during 2004 to 2005 run for the Super Bowl.
As well as the Eagle’s 2018 Super Bowl win in Minneapolis. Furthermore, throughout her career, she has traveled to Italy, Egypt, and Kenya for Action News. She has covered wildfires, hurricanes, and many political conventions. Additionally, Sarah played a key role in Action News’ coverage of the papal visit in 2015. She covered major political events in Washington DC including both Obama’s inauguration and the funeral of President George H.W. Bush. She has also spent years covering daily news events in Philadelphia both as an anchor and a reporter.
Sarah came to Channel 6 from WTVG, the ABC-owned station in Toledo, Ohio, where she was a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter. Additionally, in 2002, Sarah was awarded First Place in the Spot News Category from the Associated Press of Ohio for her coverage from New York of the September 11th attacks. She was also nominated for two Emmy awards for her live coverage of Ground Zero. In 2001, she was named Best Reporter in Ohio by the Associated Press. She lives in Center City.
