Ramamurthy portrays Devi’s dad Mohan, a “warm, caring” father with an adventurous side who owns a moped and only wants the best for his American-born daughter. Mohan died of a heart attack during Devi’s concert, before the start of the series. Relationship between Devi and her father Mohan, who died suddenly just before the events of the series.

Mohan, an optimistic guy, and humongous tennis fan lingers for Devi and her mom in flashbacks. Memories of happier times, and also in the fact that the show is narrated by his idol, John McEnroe. Ramamurthy starred in all four seasons of Heroes, although his appearance in the final season was limited; had the series been recommissioned for a fifth season, he would not have returned for it.

In 2000, he appeared in NBC’s television biblical miniseries At the Beginning in the role of Adam.
