Sendhil Ramamurthy is an Indian American actor. He is best known for his roles as geneticist Mohinder Suresh in the NBC sci-fi drama Heroes, Gabriel “Gabe” Lowan in Beauty and the Beast, and Jai Wilcox in Covert Affairs. Currently, he is appearing on the Netflix series Never Have I Ever.

Ramamurthy portrays Devi’s dad Mohan, a “warm, caring” father with an adventurous side who owns a moped and only wants the best for his American-born daughter. Mohan died of a heart attack during Devi’s concert, before the start of the series. Relationship between Devi and her father Mohan, who died suddenly just before the events of the series.

Ramamurthy starred in all four seasons of Heroes, although his appearance in the final season was limited; had the series been recommissioned for a fifth season, he would not have returned for it.

In 2000, he appeared in NBC’s television biblical miniseries At the Beginning in the role of Adam.
