Sheri got her Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Lynn University in Boca Raton. Sheri’s journalism career began behind the scenes in her hometown of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she worked as a traffic producer for local radio stations.
The Mississippi Associated Press recognized Sheri six times for outstanding work as an anchor and reporter. She was honored for her coverage of The Mississippi Innocence Project, which helped overturn the case of two women sentenced to 44 years in prison. Sheri also covered the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and witnessed the 2012 execution of a 35-year-old man convicted of murder at 18.
She also covered the February 2013 tornado that ripped through the city. Additionally, she worked in the production department at WTVJ-NBC6 in Miramar, Fla.Before moving her dogs, cats, and husband to Birmingham, Sheri spent five years working in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
