Carder, an Idaho native, is currently working at KIFI Local News 8 for the second time. The Minico High School graduate, who was born in Burley and raised in Rupert, first visited KIFI in 2000. In the broadcasting program at Ricks College, he had just completed two years. He was employed by student radio station KWBH as a student at Ricks as an on-air radio personality and sports broadcaster. Carder worked as an editor, producer, sports anchor, and more between 2000 and 2007. He served as the weekend sports anchor and sports reporter for the final two years.
Following that, Dylan spent some time working outside of broadcasting until earning his bachelor’s in history from Idaho State University. He then briefly made a comeback to television by producing a morning show at KIDK TV3 in 2010. Dylan’s broadcasting career continued by returning to radio. He worked for a few years as a program director, on-air anchor, and host for Riverbend Communications in Idaho Falls. His subsequent journey took him to Wenatchee, Washington, where from 2016 to 2018, he served as program and news director at KPQ radio.
Additionally, he co-hosted a daily sports talk program and broadcast basketball and football games for high schools there. From 2018 to 2021, Dylan moved back to Idaho and worked as the sports director at KIFI. He had the honor of covering three championships at this time: the Idaho Falls Chukars Pioneer League, the Idaho Falls Bandits American Legion World Series, and the Idaho State women’s basketball Big Sky. During his free time, Dylan watches and roots for his favorite sports teams. He loves his ISU Bengals, Jazz, Utes, Seahawks, Mariners, Kraken, Sounders, and Storm.
