Harmony graduated from Florida State University and Mississippi State University with a major in meteorology and geography and minors in physics and mathematics.
Mendoza joined the WVTM 13 weather team in 2010. She has been in central Alabama through record-breaking historic weather events including the April 27 Super Tornado Outbreak in 2011. The weather has always been a large part of Harmony’s life, but nothing compares to what she and the WVTM 13 weather team witnessed on April 27, 2011. Alabama will never be the same, and that goes for Harmony as well.
The state has been forever changed and the way we prepare for severe weather is now front and center in most Alabamians’ minds. That’s why Harmony focuses on serving the community —to better serve those who may need more information on how to prepare when severe weather strikes. Moreover, Harmony enjoys going to area schools talking to kids about severe weather awareness, and serving on the Black Warrior River Keeper Advisory Council. During her free time, she enjoys singing, dancing, concerts, and all things sports but mostly watching her son grow into a man.
