Since the age of seven, her fascination with weather began after seeing a waterspout on a family vacation in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The power and beauty of that storm captivated and intrigued her. From that day on, during storms, you would be able to find her out her my deck watching the volatility of Mother Nature. She knew exactly what she wanted to be when she grew up, she wanted to be a meteorologist.
Bogowith decided to follow her dreams and head to The University of Missouri to pursue a Meteorology degree. She graduated from the University as a double major with a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology and Communications in 2008. And in December 2011, she completed her Master’s in Meteorology. Bogowith started her career at KOMU-TV 8 in January 2007 as a fill-in weathercaster and moved up in the ranks to serve as the Evening Meteorologist in Columbia, Missouri. While at KOMU, she was recognized by the Missouri Broadcasters Association, where she won Best Weathercast in 2010 and 2012.
In addition to several reporting awards, including an Edward R. Murrow and a National SPJ Sigma Delta Chi award, for her hard work and efforts in Joplin, Missouri following the May 22nd tornado. In September 2012, she joined Fox 4 as the Mid Morning and Noon Meteorologist. Furthermore, Bogowith earned her Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal in March of 2014 from the American Meteorological Society You can catch her at 4 am and 9 am Monday through Friday, in addition to filling in for Mike, Karli, and Joe. When she is not in front of the green screen, you’ll see her out at sporting events and concerts with her husband Gary, volunteering in the community, or running around town with our Doberman Dakota and Great Pyrenees Frank the Tank!
