Perez became interested in Meteorology in Elementary School, where he was able to cover local weather over the loudspeaker. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology and had the opportunity to intern at WNBC Storm Team 4 in New York City for two summers.
Therefore after graduating, he took a Chief Meteorologist position in Great Falls, Montana. Additionally, during his time in Great Falls, Perez had the incredible experience of reporting everything from severe summer thunderstorms to minus-sixty-below wind chills.
In addition, he then moved to Spokane, Washington to become the Weekend Meteorologist at KHQ Local News. Most recently, he was the Weekday Meteorologist at FOX43 serving Harrisburg, PA.
Furthermore, he won a Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters award for his coverage of Hurricane Ida.
He is new to Denver and is super excited to check out some of Colorado’s natural beauty and get outdoors. Additionally, during his leisure time he can be found rooting for his Virginia Tech Hokies, playing some golf, skiing, and of course, traveling.
